Nova Star Intro to Acting Class

Every great performer starts somewhere.

The Nova Star Intro to Acting program is the perfect first step for young performers who want to build confidence, explore their creativity, and develop the foundational skills of acting in a fun, supportive, and engaging environment.

Students will learn the essentials of performance through monologues, improvisation, character development, scene work, voice and movement training, and theatre games. Whether your child dreams of acting in film, television, theatre, or simply wants to become a more confident communicator, this program provides the skills to help them shine.


Our experienced instructors guide students through age-appropriate lessons that encourage creativity, teamwork, and self-expression while introducing the fundamentals of professional performance.


Meet Your Instructors

Mel Mah

Writer • Director • Producer • Performer • Mindfulness Teacher

Mel Mah is a Toronto-based filmmaker, performer, and mentor with a multidisciplinary background spanning film, television, dance, and mindfulness. A former professional dancer and experienced teacher, she brings a unique perspective on performance, movement, storytelling, and presence.

Through her work, Mel helps emerging talent build confidence, creativity, and authentic expression.

Genelle Williams

Genelle Williams is an accomplished Canadian actress known for her work in television, film, and theatre. She is best known for roles in Radio Free Roscoe, The Latest Buzz, Warehouse 13, Family Law, and Doomstown, among many other productions. With extensive experience across comedy, drama, and character-driven roles, Genelle brings a wealth of professional knowledge and insight to her work as an actress and mentor. She is passionate about supporting emerging performers and sharing her experience with the next generation of talent.
